Hard throws, clean catches. The original Wham-O #15 mold with a raised central "cupola". These discs are 110 grams and 24 cm in diameter. It takes guts!
Guts is a game of high-speed catch. 5 people per team. 2 lines 46 ft. apart. Line up fingertip to fingertip, toeing the line. Opponent throws the Frisbee at you. Speeds can reach 85 MPH. Good throws arrive above the ground, right-side up, and within reach. Thrower scores if a good throw is NOT caught with ONE HAND. The Frisbee may be hit up, but can never be trapped by - or even TOUCH - two body parts at the same time. A good catch means no point scored. A bad throw scores a point for the receiving team. Whoever makes a catch throws next. If no catch is made, the first person hit by the Frisbee throws it back. Stepping on the line while throwing (foot fault) counts as a catch by their best thrower. Switch ends when the two scores total a multiple of 11 (ex: 6- 5, 13-9, or 18-15). Play to 21 (minimum two-point margin required victory).
